Just flagging a recently published study that might be relevant for ongoing SCI 4 AI development:
Berthelot et al 2025: Understanding the environmental impact of generative AI services

They demonstrate a refined LCA methodology for AI models and apply it to Stable Diffusion. I thought it was interesting to see that by their method, the emissions were roughly evenly split between training, hosting/inference and end users, with a small additional contribution from networking.
As always, the devil is in the details - recommend reading the paper for yourselves!
