GUI does not allow changing FPS beyond default values

The GUI only allows 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 fps, while the CLI project allows much greater fine-tuning. I'd like to be able to have the full power of the CLI.

"should not" and "cannot" are two completely different things. while I understand your concern, it is not my focus.
I cannot encode 30 FPS either. converting my 60 FPS footage into 30 FPS would be much cleaner than 50 FPS or 20 FPS, which are the closest options that GIFSKI provides.

This is an issue for the GUI, try the CLI to overcome this issue. The author doesnt care too much to maintain this app.

GIFs are technically incapable of playing back at most of the frame rates mentioned here. Internally, there is no global "frame rate" value for the animation, nor presentation timestamps as most video formats use, but rather a frame delay for each individual frame, which is stored in hundredths of a second. A 0.02 second frame delay results in a 50 FPS animation. The only higher frame rate that is even possible to encode in a GIF is with a 0.01 second frame delay which theoretically would result in a 100 FPS animation, but every browser/player will ignore that and either play it back with a predefined longer delay or not play the animation at all. If the frame rate you want does not have a delay that evenly divides into 100, it cannot be accurately represented with a GIF.

I would like to be able to use FPS 15/16, I have a video that is from an old game using SMK (Bink Smacker) and it's at 15FPS, so 15FPS or 16FPS would be much more suitable but the Gifski GUI only has 10 or 20 :(

GIF can only define frame delays in multiples of 1/100th of a second.

Most screens are 60hz, so can display a frame for multiples of 1/60th of a second.

This leaves 10 and 20fps as the only useful frame rates that can be played smoothly.

GIF can do 25fps, but 60hz screens can't do 24 nor 25. 60hz screens can do 30fps, but GIF can't. GIF has 33.3fps.

Additionally, 50fps is the maximum frame rate allowed by web browsers, because there are plenty of GIFs on the web that are set to 100fps, but were meant to be played at whatever slow speed old computers could play them at.

Other frame rates can be approximated by jittering between two frame rates supported by GIF, but this can look choppy and isn't accurate due to delays being rounded to display's vsync.

There's absolutely no way you would get something like 29.97. I can make the UI lie to you and pretend to support any number, but the GIF won't.

The values that are there are the only ones that make sense.

Even if it's not as efficient, the slightly slow/slightly too fast was an issue for me when trying to reproduce the look of the obsolete game
When I used this (SHIFT+ rightclick folder and "Open Powershell"):

• The only framerates that GIF supports are: 100, 50, 33.33, 25, 20, 16.66, 14.3, 12.5, 11.11, 10, and lower (100/n). There's no way to say you want 60fps. You can say you want some frames played at 100fps, some at 50fps, alternating so that it sort-of averages to about 60fps.
