KLayout 0.30.4 debug version crashes when exiting the software.

KLayout 0.30.4 debug version crashes upon exiting.

1. Development Environment:
   KLayout v0.30.4, Windows 10 x64, VS2019 x64 debug
2. Problem Description: Opening a .dxf file and then clicking exit causes the software to crash.

I'm not actively supporting MSVC. Python modules on PyPI are built on MSVC and there is no issue there. My home base is Linux. Windows builds are done with MSYS/mingw. I can debug your issue on MSVC.

Your line numbers are somewhat off. Did you change something?

I any case I don't understand what's going on.

From your stack trace, the destructor of LayoutView calls LayoutViewBase::shutdown. This does that:

  //  NOTE: this must happen before the services are deleted
  mp_move_service = 0;
  mp_selection_service = 0;
  mp_tracker = 0;
  mp_zoom_service = 0;

and then it destroys all the plugins. Among them is ant::Service which is responsible for the rulers and it's destructor calls LayoutViewBase::cancel_edits through a chain of other calls.

I assume that this is the same LayoutViewBase object than the one we started with (this pointer being the same), this function does that:

  //  the move service takes a special role here as it manages the
  //  transaction for the collective move operation.
  if (mp_move_service) {
    mp_move_service->cancel ();
  }

As we have set mp_move_service to null, cancel should not be called. But it is, as your stack trace shows.

So either that is a different LayoutViewBase (it could be the navigator) or something is odd.

We did not modify the source code.The line numbers are correct. The version is KLayout 0.30.4.

This issue only occurs in MSVC debug mode, not in release mode.

The release version runs correctly and does not crash.

In that case, as usual, first try with the latest version.
