Hue wall switch module (929003017102) does not allow dimming

Hi all,

I use a number of Hue Wall Switch devices which have been configured as outlined below (following instructions from Zigbee2MQTT device setup guide LINK):

• device mode: single_push_button
• added to the group it should control (Device does not appear in the group but that is as indicated in the manual)
• bindings: coordinator: PowerCfg, Group: LevelCtrl and OnOff

This allows the switch to be used as an on off switch for the group, however I donot seem to be able to get the LevelCtrl functionality working.

Environment:

• This issue seems to be present in Zigbee2MQTT versions: 2.0.0 and 2.1.1
• I have 3 hue wall switches which are all bound to hue lights which all have the same issue)

Additional solutions which I tried sofar (without success):

• Tried to bind the Hue Wall switch directly to a device: on off for an individual device seems to work fine as well, level ctrl does not work.
• Tried to fully unbind the Coordinator: no effect on the LevelCtrl function, (I would prefer to keep some of the bindings to the coordinator to keep track of device batterypower and click registration)
• Tried to add Simulated brightness values (delta: 20 and interval: 200) as indicated in open issue 23459 LINK registered in July 2024 which seems similar to my issue, however from July 2024 so for an older version.

Thanks for any help and guidance which can be provided. When setting logging to DEBUG mode, I donot find any more logs than the On/Off actions which are sent to MQTT.

Hi Ron, same issue here when binding to group.

I have RDM001 Hue Wall Switch modules with Smlight SLZB-06M. There’s another issue on GitHub that was opened around few months ago.
