Blurring on transparent borders?

I'm in the middle of migrating from awesomewm + picom. One thing I'm trying to replicate from my awesomewm setup is having window borders with a transparent colour, and those borders having the blur effect applied to them (kind of like Windows 7's aero effects). The transparent colours part is easy, but I can't seem to figure out how to apply the blurring to them. Is this something that's even possible with swayfx right now?

This is currently not supported by swayfx, #457 is trying to introduce that however
