Problem with authentication

Hi,

i have create a user with password. If i check with chasquid-util the tool say password is ok. If the connection is over SMTP i get "535: 5.7.8 Incorrect user or password".

I don't use dovecot and the configuration is: dovecot_auth: false

Do I miss something that I still need to configure?

I have found the solution. Run the command again after each new domain: sudo setfacl -R -m u:chasquid:rX /etc/chasquid/

FWIW, chasquid should have shown an error in the logs about the permissions. If it didn't please let me know so I can fix it.

The log only says “auth failed”. It would be nice if an authorisation problem for the files were reported.

chasquid has two logs:

• "mail log" is the one you posted. It's meant to be very brief and only mail and (some) auth transactions appear there.
• "process log" is where most of the events go, including information about the daemon starting up.

In most setups, the process log is read by systemd, and ends up in the systemd journal.

That's the one that would have the errors for the daemon not being able to access the users file.
