Summary

Support TLSv1.2 on Android 4.1 to 4.4

Motivations

Since the Amplitude removed support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 from Nov 28, 2022, Android 4.1 to 4.4 are NOT supported anymore, although the Amplitude SDK's minimal API level is 16 (Android 4.1).

The Amplitude SDK will be able to support Android 4.1 to 4.4 after enabling the TLSv1.2 by custom SSLSocketFactory.

Hi @ShawnLin013 Thanks for raising this up. Before the announcement, we analyzed the traffic for Android 4.1 to 4.4 with Amplitude. And the percentage was minimal. This is still on our radar however the priority is low now.
