Vizier server change

Hello, the default vizier server (https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/) has been having a lot of issues recently with being down and not loading. I've tried to change the astroquery vizier mirror to the Japanese site using conf.server = "vizier.nao.ac.jp" but that doesn't seem to actually change which server is being queried. Is there any robust way to change servers/mirrors in such cases?

conf.server is only used at import time, so you have to change it in your config file (e.g., ~/.astropy/config/astroquery.cfg).

If you want to change at runtime, change Vizier.VIZIER_SERVER.
