Unable to wrangle workspaces and multiple monitors

FWIW I've read through the Omarchy and Hyprland documentation, but I'm still struggling to get a sane setup.

My setup is simple:

• Laptop (eDP-1)
• LG UltraFine 5K (for some reason DP-1 and DP-2, and I don't know which is which)

Here's my config:

monitor = eDP-1, [email protected], 3840x0, 1.5 # Laptop monitor

# workspaces.conf
workspace = 1, monitor:eDP-2
workspace = 2, monitor:DP-1
workspace = 3, monitor:DP-2

Right now here's what the effect is:

• workspace 1: no idea where this is
• workspace 2: external monitor (somehow)
• workspace 3: no idea
• workspace 4: no idea
• workspace 5: laptop

You are not taking into account the scaling factor; from hyprland's wiki:

The position is calculated with the scaled (and transformed) resolution, meaning if you want your 4K monitor with scale 2 to the left of your 1080p one, you’d use the position 1920x0 for the second screen (3840 / 2). If the monitor is also rotated 90 degrees (vertical), you’d use 1080x0.

For example, DP-2 has a scale of 1.6, so the position of DP-1 should be 0x1800 (2880/1.6 = 1800).

Tried https://github.com/fiffeek/hyprdynamicmonitors by @fiffeek

Added this line to my ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.conf

exec-once = hyprdynamicmonitors run --enable-lid-events

Ran hyprdynamicmonitors tui did the config and Applied it and it worked
