suggestion: default on

dear craig francis,
i like your add on very much, so much in fact, that i'd like to have it switched "on" as default when opening a web page.
i see the problem that, when it switches on too early, i won't see any content, so an adjustable time lag might be sensible.
or - i don't know whether this is feasable - the add on detects somehow, when the main content has bee loaded and all the ads are dropping in and switches on at this moment.

Hi, and thanks for the kind words.

As to your suggestion, I like it, but the current system is a bit too fragile to do this at the moment.

I'm currently waiting for a feature request to be completed (the ability to screenshot whole tab, not just visible section - with requests for Chrome, and the new-ish WebExtensions Community Group). It has been a long time coming, but technically we are nearly there (the browser can now do full page screenshots, but it's not available to extensions yet).

Once that's in place, I can get a single image for the whole page, allowing you to scroll without needing to re-create a new image (this is why scrolling is a bit messy at the moment), but it also relates to the page layout problems that happen while the page is loading.

As to waiting for the content to load... I can use the window "load" event, which happens once all of the initial images and resources have loaded (the website might add more later, but that's a different thing)... that said, it will probably be a 2 step process, as the "load" event can be quite slow, so running at "DOMContentLoaded", and maybe a timer based event (e.g. after 2 seconds), would help get an earlier screenshot.
