Format decreasing the date value

Why 2014-01-11 is 02/11/2014?

When I use the format(date, "PP") function, lets assume that the date is 2025-04-12.
the return of the function is 2025-04-11. Why?

It makes with all TZ that I used:

• America/Sao_Paulo
• America/New_York

It doesn't make any sense decreasing 1 day from the date.

I thought that was because I was coding at 02:00 AM, but even in the afternoon it happens.

Did you try out TZ that are not in America? Did you try out with a format that shows the Hour and Minutes?

I think your issue is that TZDate("2014-01-14", "America/New_York") // 2014-01-14T00:00:00.000Z is creating a date in UTC time at midnight. When you now factor in the -5 hours from "America/New_York" you end up with 2014-01-13T19:00:00.000-05:00.
When you format it to remove the hours it will show you 2014-01-13 as expected.

I tested it with some more timezones and i got this.

I'm using America/Sao_Paulo, America/New_York was only an example.

I used this:
field.value = "2025-04-14" -> this assume that is 00:00.

format(new Date("2025-04-14"), "PP", {locale: ptBR})

it returns: 13 abril 2025.

There's an option where I can choose only "parse" 2025-04-14 to 14 abril 2025?
