Cannot use empty png file for custom home icon

I try to use an empty png of the correct 184x168 size in the Custom home icon option. This is for Home menu part: Lock screen. I did this in order to have no home icon appear at all. However, it doesn't appear to recognise this and instead gives the default home icon.
