Unclear purpose of confirmation label during registration

When signing up for a new account, the text field labelled "Confirmation" or "Bestätigung" may not be easily understood by all users. The purpose of this field is to re-type the password for confirmation. This should be explained along with the label which should probably also be renamed to "Password confirmation" and "Passwort bestätigen", respectively.
