Helix Segfaults when opening a directory

Summary

I can open helix via hx ./foo/ which lists the files in the directory. When I press Tab or Down to move the highlighted line to the next file the program crashes with what looks like a segfault. I can't post screen shots unfortunately. I'm using 948ac05a in an aarch64-linux VM in using NixOs-25.05 flake where the helix flake input follows nixos-unstable.

Given what you can share, is it just this directory? You say it looked like a segfault, what there any message, like from a panic? Is it the same kind of file that segfaults? I think this could be a case where some tree sitter grammar is being loaded for a file type and that has an issue. In the same directory, try to use the up arrow to wrap around to the bottom, and, as long as its not the same file type as the one you encountered an issue on, see if it crashes or not. If not, then try to open the issue file directly and see if it crashes the same way. I would imagine most segfaults being due to the grammar parser.

I think I am having a related issue, also on aarch64 on NixOS.
I am getting quite reliable SIGABRTs when editing a .hs file, when in insert mode, inputting a few specific characters on a few specific lines (the crash only occurs when certain combinations of letters are added).
This does not happen for other formats.
The exact error is malloc(): mismatching next->prev_size (unsorted).

Unsure if @theNerd247 was also having issues with Haskell files, but searching the Haskell tree sitter repo, I see: tree-sitter/tree-sitter-haskell#144

There seems to be a PR for a fix here: tree-sitter/tree-sitter-haskell#151

But progress has stalled as no one is exactly sure why it fixes the issue.

@RoloEdits funny enough I was editing a directory full of Haskell, dhall, and nix files. I'll give your fix a try and report back. @Mxm40b and @RoloEdits thanks for the comments!
