When starting/joining a meeting as moderator. The moderator always starts as muted and no video

What happened?

When starting a meeting and logging in as moderator i am always muted. Even if i enable mic and camera on the prejoin page

I have tested this against latest jitsi on prem and on jit.si. As soon as i login i get started as muted. so something in the auth process sets the mute function. And it doesnt matter if i override the config with config.startWithAudioMuted=false&config.startWithVideoMuted=false either.

Yep, this is because when prejoin is disabled we always mute devices and in case of this type ot authentication after successfully logging in we get back to the conference page and disable prejoin because the user has already seen that screen.

We are working on updating that in the near future.

I have also been monitoring this behavior for some time. In my case, due to the Rocket.Chat integration, the room, name, and status of the video and microphone are passed in the URL, but both are always disabled when "prejoinConfig.enabled=false" is passed. If I omit this, "startWithAudioMuted" and "startWithVideoMuted" are taken into account.

I would like to regain control over audio and video with the link, as I believe was the case in the past.

Is that using the meeting via iframeAPI? If you use iframeAPI you can pass prejoin .enabled false without that affecting the local Audio and video device state.

No, the integration generates a link and the meeting then takes place in a separate window.

Having there prejoinConfig.enabled=false turns off devices due to privacy issues.

So, as I understand it, in my case this is a security feature that will remain in place, and I could only work around it with the iframeAPI.
