[Request] Statistics for JupyterLab Desktop download

Only owner of the package on snapcraft can view statistics. In course of discussing jupyterlab/jupyterlab-desktop#890 with the Technical Subcommittee of Jupyter Foundation one of the questions highlighted that would need to come with any potential request for resources was the statistics for app usage. These are currently inaccessible for contributors and for frontend council at large. https://snapcraft.io/jupyterlab-desktop

Why asking for snapcraft only?

Snapcraft store is probably the only place where accessible statistics exist as other are direct downloads of .exe, .deb, .dmg. The other store where it was published to, winget does not offer download statistics as of now (microsoft/winget-pkgs#39736).

This is resolved.

The snapcraft exposes "Weekly active devices", which I understand to be the number of unique devices which have the application installed via snap and were connected to the Internet in the last week and reach out to the snap store to check for updates. This number in the last week was ~18 900, down from the top of ~25 500 in September 2024.
