Missing patches from microbit-v2-samples

I'll create a list here of missing patches from https://github.com/lancaster-university/microbit-v2-sample that might require some discussion before merging them here:

• build: Add an option to checkout a specific revision of the target

I've added these two PRs to this codal repo as well from microbit-v2-samples:

• Use Ninja as the build system if available (not only on Windows). #57
• CMake: Add option (v3.24+) to force Ninja output to be coloured. #58
