Interactive Mode Underlying Shell

When calc is run on my system, it uses bash shell by default.

I have vi-mode enabled in zsh, and remember that in the past I could use vi-mode of zsh. Was this possible in the past or do I mistake calc with some other command-line calculator I used previously.

If possible, can calc use $SHELL by default? Perhaps, allow an argument to pass shell location?
