Search text bouncing/erasing while typing

Describe the bug
When typing quickly, the search text bounces and erases characters like I pressed backspace. I type something in, but text strokes seem to appear then erase themselves randomly, leading to searches that are incorrect for what I typed.

For example, "Temple of Seraphim" in this video becomes "Temple of Seaphim" even though I typed the whole phrase. As you can see in the video, the "r" was erased as I was typing quickly.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install extension
2. Trigger everything search via alias or directly
3. Type something quickly
4. Text bounces and erases characters while typing

Expected behavior
I should be able to type at any speed and it shouldn't erase characters while typing.

Additional context

It happens more reliably when searching for text that appears in many spots in the index. Not very often when searching for queries that don't have a lot of entries in the index.

I tried in a fresh virtual machine but couldn't reproduce, probably because it didn't have a large collection of files to index like on my main machine.

I reinstalled powertoys, everything, and everythingcomandpalette for this, still happens

This doesn't happen in the other parts of command palette, such as the regular file search, searching for options, or searching apps. It seems to be unique to Everything Command Palette extension.

I disabled Alpha Instance.

I'm experiencing this same thing. For example, I'll type 'msedge.exe' but it will update/backspace half way through and i'll end up with 'msedge.xe'

Hum... I'm not sure where this race condition is coming from.

I just pushed an alpha, you can give that a try? It's only ECP, not ECP3 tho.

Side note:
There seems to be a new function from cmdpal thqt I can test SetSearchNoUpdate

I got the alpha! I tested it out quickly and it's not doing it anymore!

I'll keep testing for the next day or two and report back on whether it happens again.

I've been using it since yesterday and not encountered the text bouncing again! Thank you for fixing this!

The only thing I notice is that I get this error when trying to click "show all."

please check the settings for show more and Everything exe https://github.com/lin-ycv/EverythingCommandPalette/wiki/Features#show-more

My guess if you changed the default install location of Everything, so the plugin cannot find it.
if you still cannot solve this issue after properly configuring Everything exe then something's wrong

Weird, it works fine on my side, the configuration seems correct.

Are you running powertoys/cmdpal in normal mode or with admin mode?
