Would it be possible to build this file, with the correct version, as the version gets updated?

Sorry to be slow to get back to you - I'm afraid I don't know these tools (other than cmake). So I'll trust you on the implementation :)

@jgoppert - do you have any interest in updating this one for modern Transforms3d? For example, we use Pytest now, not Nosetest.

Not at the moment. I think we would also want to update it for ROS2 support. ROS2 support simplifies building with python as well.

I have a ROS 2 version of this library but it requires a separate pip command to work. If this package was released as a Ubuntu dependency, it would be more readily available to ROS.
