Mouse Without Borders Support 5 PCs / screens (increase layout limit from 4 → 5+) #43667

Description of the new feature / enhancement

Currently Mouse Without Borders caps the visible / supported screen layout at 4 PCs. I use 5 separate PCs at my workstation and would love a first-class option to add a 5th machine (and ideally allow N machines where N>4). This feature would let me move the mouse/clipboard seamlessly across five machines the same way it currently works across up to four.

Scenario when this would be used?

  • My setup uses 5 thin clients running Windows for different station workloads.
  • Since Mouse Without Borders supports only up to 4 devices, I currently have to rely on extra KVM switching or manual input changes.
  • Supporting 5 thin clients would remove this limitation and significantly improve productivity in multi-station environments like mine.
  • I’ve tested it with 4 thin clients, and it works perfectly.

Supporting information

My setup uses 5 thin clients, and each thin client connects using RDP for different station workloads.

The current setup uses 2 physical KVMs, but the goal is to remove the KVMs entirely and rely fully on software switching.

However, Mouse Without Borders supports only up to 4 devices, which limits the setup.

Adding support for 5 thin clients would eliminate the need for physical KVMs and improve workflow efficiency.

Tested with 4 thin clients, and it works perfectly.
