Description
Description of the enhancement
The "Light Switch" utility introduced in 0.95 has an unhelpful name in French: “Interrupteur”, which means “Switch“. In a residence, many switches control lights, but many will control fans and many other appliances (printers, monitors, dryers, speakers, toothbrushes, etc). In a computer, there are even more switches, so it is highly unclear that “Interrupteur” allows controlling the color scheme. Moreover, it seems that the term "Switch" was chosen when this merely provided a keyboard shortcut, but "Switch" hardly describes the scheduling now offered by the utility, which makes the name confusing.
I propose to switch to a clearer name, such as:
- Interrupteur de lumière (most literal)
- Interrupteur du mode sombre
- Contrôle du mode sombre
- Activation du mode sombre
- Basculement du mode sombre (most accurate)
Scenario when this would be used?
When trying to locate a utility or explore PowerToys features
