Cannot understand documentation

The fewer issues I have to read, the more new features I will have time to implement, so I ask that you please try these things first

Steps to reproduce

1. I read the documentation in https://github.com/mifi/lossless-cut/blob/master/docs.md .
2. I dragged an .mp4 file into the LosslessCut (LC) target. It appears and begins to be scanned. Eventually, it starts playing, startling me with its sound because I wasn't expecting it to be played automatically.
3. I delete the initial segment describing the entire file, since I want to trim the file.
4. I created a CSV file describing the trim I want. I created a format string for export.
5. I searched the GUI for a way to import the CSV file. I couldn't find one. None of the controls seemed to have an appropriate tooltip, none of the submenus seemed to be right, and there was no context menu inside the Segments pane.
6. I used an LLM (Edge Copilot) to help me, but none of its many guesses worked. I follow each suggestion it makes, but it ends in failure. It claims the method for importing changed over time.
7. I feel stuck, and stupid. Somehow, I've not understood the documentation.

Expected behavior

I'm not sure what should happen, as this is my first use of LC. I would like to apply my CSV file to the file I dragged into LC, and export the trimmed result. I would like to do this for 7 files (from Zoom) all sharing the same length and CSV file. I need to do this to remove four hours of empty recording at the end of the Zoom meeting.

Actual behavior

I've described this in the steps to reproduce. What happens is I feel frustrated, annoyed with myself.

I doubt that a log would help. There is no apparent crash, just a failure on my part.

Hi. Can you share the csv file that you tried to import but didnt work? Also which version of losslesscut are you running?

I never got to the point where my csv file was read in. But, if you still want to see it:

My CSV file had incorrect format, using '.' as a separator instead of ':'. But even after correcting this and figuring out the strange sequence of operations, I discovered that my .mp4 files contain two instances of the content, so it is twice as large as it should be. There are lots more things I need to understand before I can use this app successfully, but I don't see any recent answers in the GitHub issues and discussions section.

Are you saying that it starts playing automatically without you clicking anything? is it possible that you accidentally clicked on the video? because that will make it start playing. I will make the initial volume hen starting the app the first time to be 30%

This is most likely due to keyframes. Either you're not cutting at a keyframe, or ffmpeg is not correctly doing it. You may have to shift all times forward by X frames. Please see FAQ an troubleshooting
