Description
one single command handling everything
Translated paladium wiki
## 1. Create your faction
To create a faction of which you will be the leader, simply type the command : /f create [name]. You can at any time of the game modify the name of your faction by entering : /f name [name]. As a leader, you can also write (and modify afterwards) the description of your faction by using : /f desc [text].
Important: it goes without saying that the names and descriptions of factions must respect the rules in game; inappropriate names, insults, identity theft, etc. are not accepted.
Please note! It happens that the faction plugin does some quirks and expels you from your faction without you having the possibility to reintegrate it or to dissolve it! If this happens, go to TeamSpeak, in the Super Moderation Waiting Room, and wait for a Super Moderator to come and delete the empty faction that was created, so that you can recreate it.
Finally, you are also the only one who can disband your faction by entering the command /f disband.
Now that you have created your own faction, the next step is of course to recruit new members!
2. Administer its members
First, use the command /f open [yes/no] to define if your faction will be open [yes] or closed [no]. If your faction is open, players will be able to join it by simply using the command /f join [name of your faction]. If your faction is closed, players will have to wait for an invitation from you or for you to accept their request.
If you want to invite a player, enter /f invite [nickname]. On his side the player will have to accept the invitation by typing the command /f join [faction/pseudo]. Your faction can't have more than 30 members. The members will be able to freely leave your faction by using /f leave.
In your faction, you can distinguish your members according to their rank, which will give them different permissions.
The ranks are the following: Leader (LEA) / Officer (OFF) / Member (MEM) / Recruit (REC). To change the rank of a member, you (or an officer) can use the commands /f promote [nickname] (move up to the higher rank) or /f demote [nickname] (move down to the lower rank). You can also directly promote a member to Officer (/f officer [nickname]) or Leader (/f leader [nickname]), but there can only be one Leader, so you will go down to Officer. Also note that it is not possible to promote someone to the same position as yourself, an Officer cannot promote someone to Officer for example.
The permissions granted or not granted to the different ranks can be viewed by typing the command /f perm.
Note: permissions also concern the rights granted to factions with which you have defined a relationship (Ally / Truce / Neutral / Enemy).
Each permission can be fully customized with the command /f perm [faction/pseudo] [permission] [grade] [yes/no]. For example, if you want the Recruits to be able to edit the terrain, you would enter: /f perm mafac build rec yes. The name of the permission is displayed in blue on the right.
In addition to ranks, you can assign custom titles to your members! Whether you want to add hierarchies to your faction, you are free to choose! To do so, use the command /f title [nickname] [title].
If you want to remove the title of a player of your faction, simply make the command /f title [player's nickname]. His title will be reset to zero.
Attention! You can't give specific permissions to these titles, they are only names, prefixes.
Last but not least, note this last command to manage your members: /f kick [nickname]! As you will have understood, it will allow you to exclude the designated player from your faction.
The management of your faction is essential because the cooperation and the links you will build between your members will play a lot on your success. But the relationships you have with other factions will also influence your future! Here is some information to help you define the relationships you will have with the other factions of Paladium.
3. Defining your relationships with other factions
When you create your faction, you also decide what your ambitions will be: extreme raiders, fierce fighters, chill farmers... it's your choice!
According to this, you will define, as you interact with other factions, the relationships you want to have with them.
There are 4 relationship statuses: Ally (ALL), Truce (TRU), Neutral (NEU), and Enemy (ENE).
Here are the commands that allow to define these different statuses.
-
Ally: /f ally [faction] - The alliance request will then be sent to the designated faction. For the ally status to be accepted, the faction must also send an invitation.
-
Truce: /f truce [faction] - The truce request will be sent to the designated faction. The faction must also send an invitation in order to be accepted as an ally.
-
Neutral: /f neutral [faction] - Resets your relationship with a faction to neutral
-
Enemy : /f enemy [faction] - Change the designated faction to enemy, no need for its agreement for that !
Note: by default, relationships with all other factions are set to neutral. If you want to remove a link with a faction, you'll just have to change its status back to "neutral". You will not be able to change your status back to "neutral" with another faction if it is not your faction that did the "/f enemy" command.
As you have seen before, you can define specific permissions for each of these relationships. As a reminder, the command to use is
#/f perm [faction/name] [permission] [relationship] [yes/no]
This allows you for example to grant privileges to your allies in your claim base.
You now know how to manage your faction, your members and your relations with other factions! Now it's time to think about your projects, and maybe especially about your base claim, THE faction project par excellence!
4. Manage your claims
The fact of owning your faction gives you the possibility to manage claims on the different faction servers. The claim allows you to claim a chunk as your property and thus to limit the actions of people who don't have the permissions to edit your land: it will be impossible for them to break blocks or to put them down, to open a chest or to operate a lever for example. On the other hand, claiming a location has a big disadvantage: your base can be found much more easily.
You have several commands to "buy" and "sell" chunks in the form of claims:
-
/f claim [radius]: "Buy" a chunk which you will then own. Unlicensed people will not be able to open chunks or build in this area. It is possible to specify the radius of your claim, but you can choose not to specify it, so only one claim will be "purchased": the one you are in.
-
/f autoclaim : "Buys" automatically the chunks you pass through.
-
/f unclaim : "Resells" the chunk you are in.
-
/f unclaimall : "Resells" all the chunks you have bought, on all the faction servers.
Note: to view the chunks, you can press the F9 key on your keyboard. The corners of the chunks will then be marked with vertical red lines. If you press this key a second time, the chunks will be delimited in their entirety by a green grid. To erase these borders, press the F9 key a third time.
When you have claims, you can create a home for all the members of your faction (without affecting the number of homes available on the server) by using the command /f sethome. If you have to modify it, you don't have to delete it, you just have to do the same command again at the new location.
To teleport there, the members of the faction can simply type /f home.
Be careful! If you unclaim the chunk on which your /f home is located, it will disappear, you will have to define a new one on a claim location.
Point on the number of your claims and the power of your college
The number of claims you can "buy" depends on the power of your college, which is the sum of the powers of the members who constitute it. Each player can have up to 10 power points and each power point can allow you to buy a claim.
You can check the power level of your faction and the number of claims you have by using the command /f f.
Be careful ! The power of your faction must remain superior to the number of your claims, otherwise you risk the "overclaim". Indeed, when a player is killed, he loses 1 power point. In case of an enemy attack and repeated deaths, the total power of your faction may be strongly affected, and you endanger the ownership of your claims!
Be careful! The power of your college must remain superior to the number of your claims, otherwise you risk the "overclaim". Indeed, when a player is killed, he loses 1 power point. In case of an enemy attack and repeated deaths, the total power of your faction may be strongly affected, and you endanger the ownership of your claims!
Let's take an example to illustrate this : your faction has 3 members, who all have 9 of power, that is to say a total of 27 points of power, for a maximum of 30 power reachable. Now let's say you have claimed 25 chunks to build your base. If during an enemy attack, you all die twice, your faction's power will drop to 21 points, which is 4 less than the number of claims you have. This could give your attacker the possibility to overclaim 3 chunks by typing the command /f claim on the chosen territories. You may find yourself deprived of access to your most valuable resources, so be very careful!
Tip: if you find yourself underpowered, you can always /f unclaim the number of chunks that could be overclaimed, for example here 4, to get back a number of claims equal to your power, taking care of course to choose chunks that do not contain important resources! You give up 3 chunks to the enemy, but it's a blessing in disguise, because the attacker won't be able to overclaim the most important claims!
You now know how your Faction plugin works, it's up to you to be the perfect Leader to lead your glorious team to triumph!
