Is there a way to pause and resume a mlt job?

I am running mlt jobs which take 8-12 hours usually and these are scripted so there is always a job running. Is there a way to pause/halt a running job and then resume it later at the same position? There are times when I need to do administrative tasks like reboot the NAS and currently I have to wait for the job to finish before I can reboot the NAS.

It depends on your operating system. This code from Shotcut tells you how:

If you are using Linux or macOS you use the kill or killall command to send a signal to processes, not only to kill them.
