Sadly the button on my Apple watch broke so the "menu" no longer works. 😢
It's a Series 7 (44mm) I got when my Series 2 (42 mm) died.
I don't want to buy a Series 10 ... overpriced and I wouldn't use all the features.

I'm going to keep my current Series 7 limping along for as long as I can, even with the broken button.
I went past the authorised repair technicians today and they informed that there is no repair for Apple Watch because they cannot guarantee that it'll still be waterproof. 😢

I'm quite tempted to get one of these after watching quite a few videos comparing various Garmin models to AWU.
But even though the button on my Series 7 AW is broken it's still soldiering on!

I'm really hoping it holds on until the new models are announced 09.09.2025 ⏳ 🙏 (3 weeks...)
New models will further decrease the price of older models.
And if there are no new features or better battery life, I'm very happy with a Gen 1 AWU as long as it's got a good battery.

if my Series 7 can hold on until Black Friday that would be amaze. 🤞
But I'm not holding my breath. 😬

Today, in my rush to leave my parents house (and return to my own @home) with the kids, I forgot my Apple Watch charging on @carolrmc’s desk charger. 🫠

Only realised when I was 40mins away and decided not to return (add 80+ minutes to our journey) …

This brings to an abrupt end my 685 days of unbroken move streak. And the only reason it was “just” 685 was because it reset when I moved to iPhone 15. 🫠

I looked down at my wrist many times thought the day only to be painfully reminded of my failure to bring it. 😢
I use my watch multiple times each day, not just for the time. 💭

To be clear: I had already won the auction for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 on ebay (over the weekend) before I forgot my Apple Watch 7 at Ouma's house ... the reason I'm getting the CASIO F-91W (arriving today) is simple: I will use it for the next month until my sister brings me the AWU2 when she visits at the end of October... ⏳
I will also use the CASIO when I'm walking around in South Africa 🇿🇦 next year and don't want to draw attention to myself. (obviously easier said than done with kids and an iPhone ... 🙃)
