Feature request: Different settings pr. device type

We have a lot of different devices, with different naming conventions and "real-estate" space for attatching a QR code label.
As it is now, it is hard to find a middle-ground for the labels for devices, e.g. smaller fiber casettes does not have the space to print the same size label as a larger router.

Would it be possible to implement so that the size / font, etc. settings could be per. device type?

In the planned version, it will be possible to define any number of label layouts for a device, a rack, or similar objects. These layouts will be displayed clearly in a list. We use this, for example, for notebooks, but also for headsets where there is less space available for the label. For this reason, we use two label printers with different label sizes.

In addition, we sometimes use labels with different types of information for devices. Depending on the layout, certain details, such as serial numbers and their descriptions, can be hidden — especially when no serial number is available. This saves us from having to create separate label layouts for every possible variant, as we can flexibly control which information is actually printed based on content and availability.

This should be exactly what you need.

I checked it out real quick, and it looks like it will achieve what i ask yes, with the caveat that for each different use case that you have (i.e. for each device requiring a different label setup), an additional QR code will be displayed on all device pages.

To your last answer:

You can also use Jinja2 and IF to ensure that you get a multifunctional label.

Two lines are displayed here, for example:
'text_template': 'Name: {{ obj.name }}\nSerial: {{ obj.serial }}',

With Jinja2, only display the serial line if a value is available:
'text_template': 'Name: {{ obj.name }}{% if obj.serial %}\nSerial: {{ obj.serial }}{% endif %}',

This allows you to define the main design so that it is valid for everyone and only displays what information is available.

Of course, a label design is required for each label size. However, this is also necessary in other label designer tools.
