The flatpak installation stores the extensions under ~/.var/app/com.vscodium.codium/extensions instead of ~/.vscode-oss/extensions

Suggestion

I haven't looked fully into it, but a reasonable solution seems to be downloading the VSIX file similar to before to ensure flexibility regarding publisher, version, etc. and then use the command api to execute workbench.extensions.installExtension.
