As technical writers, we're constantly balancing comprehensive documentation with efficient workflows. Generating meaningful alt-text for images remains a manual, time-consuming task. We'd love to see GitBook implement LLM-based automatic alt-text generation that could analyze uploaded images and suggest contextually appropriate descriptions. This would ensure consistency across our documentation while maintaining accessibility standards.
I.E., upload an image and GitBook's AI could analyze it and pre-populate the alt-text field with an intelligent description that we can review and refine if needed. For technical documentation containing lots of screenshots, diagrams, and flowcharts, this would reduce the friction of maintaining WCAG compliance.
Thank you for the consideration!
