How to implement webhook to inform user that background job has been completed?

Hi, i have successfully implemented inngest in my web app to allow the job to handed off to be run in the background

However, how can I notify my user in my frontend when the background job has been completed?

Anyone has done a successful implementation of the inngest webhook to share the code snippet or can be point to some good resource for me to do my research on how to implement webhook to inform user that background job has been completed. Thanks a lot

Hi @myhendry, Inngest has a couple options that you can use:

• Realtime - Push updates to the browser from your function: https://www.inngest.com/docs/features/realtime
• REST API - You can fetch the status of a run via the REST API. Here's some guidance on make this request. This request would have to happen via your backend/API, so you could wrap this in an API endpoint in your application.

Alternatively, you could add an extra step.run to interact with a database or notification system that you may already have set up to push an update to your users.

Thanks @djfarrelly, I will take a look. ll be good if there will article online that describes the code needed to make such notification work. I believe it will be helpful for coders evaluating to implement inngest into their app. I'm loving inngest. nice product
