SelectCheckboxMenu (as Column Filter) values update failed in the DataTable (v15.0.x)

I recently upgraded from v12.0.8 to 15.0.9 and during tests issue was identified with custom filters update in DataTable. I am not sure if the issue is related to the upgrade to v15 (most likely not), seems it stopped working some time ago even on the v12.0.x.

Basically there is a page with a DataTable where some columns use p:selectCheckboxMenu as filter. There is another p:selectOneMenu outside the DataTable (values for simplicity: "User, Admin") which updates filters on the backend (via listener) with predefined filter values and refreshes the table.

So the original implementation worked as follows:

1. Select desired value User or Admin in the selectOneMenu -> it updates filters values on the backend and updates DataTable;
2. DataTable update includes updates of columns filters, as such p:selectCheckboxMenu rereads values and reflects updated values;
3. Subsequent interaction with DataTable works fine as well.

But during tests after upgrade to v15.0.x we noticed that it doesn't work anymore.
The version I was able to make more or less working as desired is the following:

Is this a valid approach? My concern that I need to manually list ids of the column filters to be updated both in process and update of the selectOneMenu, but columns are dynamic, and may not be all rendered, so all that requires additional handling. Before it worked much simpler with approach like: process="@this" update="recTbl".
Am I missing something?

Your example doesn't look like the custom filtering on the showcase: https://showcase.primefaces.org/ui/data/datatable/filter.xhtml

all of those call the dt.filter() Javascript method and it looks like you are trying to bind yours like a normal SelectOneMenu?

I think my case is pretty close to the showcase: the only difference - I bind p:selectCheckboxMenu to the bean value="#{tableController.statusFilter}" to have its values pre-populated/updated based on the value in the bean (which is updated by p:selectOneMenu located outside the DataTable). So yes, it is almost like a normal usage of p:selectCheckboxMenu inside the column filter facet and normal usage of p:selectOneMenu outside the DataTable.

And before (around v12.0.x) that was working as expected, but then (not sure after which version exactly) stopped working.
Am I doing something wrong? Should I pre-populate values p:selectCheckboxMenu in a different way instead of binding its value to bean field?

It works as expected again only like this (but listing each filter p:selectCheckboxMenu in process/update properties is not really feasible in my scenario):

Tried just now - unfortunately didn't help! :(
Tried both partialUpdate="false" and also with skipChildren="false".
