Thanks for the feedback. I can't reproduce assigning the same shortcut, so I'm surprised that you were able to do it. My expectation is that the shortcut is intercepted by the Rectangle action prior to hitting the shortcut recorder. I have a private version of the shortcut recorder used in my other apps that detects when the shortcut is already used in the same app and communicates this (which I have plans to open source and bring to Rectangle at some point). I'm not opposed to having this functionality in Rectangle, but it's a fairly involved change and I don't have plans to add it myself. It can be achieved in Rectangle Pro (paid), using the Custom Size & Position functionality, but I don't have plans to bring that to Rectangle since it is intentionally less complex. Here is a configuration that does this there, using the + button to add a repetition:

Happy user for a long time, many thanks for a great project. I'm a big fan of the repeated commands feature.
I've noticed it's possible to assign the same shortcut to multiple actions - eg:
Given the above, would love a new repeated commands option "cycle through shortcuts" here:
which would then cycle through each shortcut's assigned actions (in the example from above: Maximise, Centre Third)
