Improve the User Interface to Reduce Friction in Accessing and Browsing Notes

Effortless navigation is crucial for quickly accessing different notes and making connections between them.

Current Issues

Navigating through notebooks and notes in Notesnook is slow and cumbersome:

• Opening a second-level notebook requires four clicks.
• Jumping to another note in a different second-level notebook requires another four clicks.
• Second-level notebooks are not easily visible—you can't see all of them in a single view, making access time-consuming.

Suggested Solution

Compared to other apps like Obsidian, where navigation is almost immediate, Notesnook could improve by implementing a tree folder structure.

A tree view would:

• Display the entire folder structure in a single view.
• Enable quick access to all notebooks and notes.
• Significantly reduce the number of clicks needed to navigate.

This improvement would greatly enhance usability and efficiency for users managing multiple notes.
