Summary of Changes

Hello @ASU-Dev-1, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request modernizes the URL routing within the application by migrating from the older url function to re_path, aligning with current Django best practices. A significant enhancement is the introduction of robust UUID support for workflow and object identifiers in API endpoints, ensuring that parameters containing hyphens are correctly recognized and processed.

Highlights

  • Django URL Pattern Update: Replaced the deprecated django.conf.urls.url with django.urls.re_path across the application for modern Django compatibility.
  • UUID Support in API Endpoints: Modified regular expressions in several workflow-object related API endpoints to correctly parse workflow_pk and object_id parameters that contain hyphens, thereby enabling support for UUIDs.

Code Review

This pull request updates Django's URL patterns from the deprecated url to re_path and adds support for UUIDs in URL parameters within workflow_object_view.py. The changes are a good improvement.

However, the UUID support seems incomplete. The regex for URL parameters was updated in river_admin/views/workflow_object_view.py, but similar patterns in other view files (like workflow_view.py, state_view.py, transition_meta_view.py, etc.) still use \w+. To ensure consistent UUID support across the application, I recommend reviewing and updating the URL patterns in other relevant files as well.

I've also added a couple of specific comments for your consideration.

@delete(r'^workflow-object/delete/(?P<workflow_pk>\w+)/(?P<object_id>\w+)/$')
@delete(r'^workflow-object/delete/(?P<workflow_pk>[-\w]+)/(?P<object_id>[-\w]+)/$')

The view function decorated here, get_identifier (defined on the next line), performs a delete operation. This name is misleading. Furthermore, it redefines another function with the same name from line 12. To avoid confusion and improve code clarity, the function on line 48 should be renamed to reflect its purpose, for example, delete_workflow_object.

The include function is imported but not used in this file. It's good practice to remove unused imports to keep the code clean.
