Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and maintainers of CodeNearby pledge to make participation in our project and community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.


Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contribute to a positive environment:

  • Being respectful and considerate in speech and actions
  • Providing constructive feedback and thoughtful critiques
  • Accepting different viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting responsibility for mistakes
  • Showing empathy towards others

Examples of unacceptable behavior:

  • Harassment, abuse, or discrimination
  • Personal attacks, insults, or demeaning comments
  • Publishing others’ private information without explicit permission
  • Persistent disruptive behavior that negatively impacts others

Our Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for:

  • Clarifying standards of acceptable behavior
  • Enforcing the Code of Conduct fairly and consistently
  • Taking appropriate corrective action in response to any instances of unacceptable behavior

They have the right and responsibility to remove comments, commits, code, issues, and other contributions that violate this Code.


Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces — including GitHub issues, pull requests, discussions, and social channels — and also applies when an individual is representing the project in public spaces.


Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it privately:

Enforcement

Project maintainers will investigate and determine appropriate actions based on the nature and severity of any violations.
Actions may include warnings, temporary or permanent bans, or removal from the project spaces.

Maintainers are obligated to maintain confidentiality regarding the reporter's identity.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
